Project Reflection During this project, we each chose a topic that we wanted to pursue. I chose creative portraits. I started by using a picture of my little sister Gretta, morphing the color, hue and saturation. To be a twentieth century learned means to have original ideas and think using technology skills. I am more prepared for my future at Animas after this project because I explored my love of photography and love of creative portraits and now know that I am interested in that.
This is my pre-assessment of Risa. I started with replacing the background and then making it black and white.
These are my other pictures of my little sister Gretta.
This is one of my final projects.
Teacher creature project
Project Description: For this project, we chose a favorite teacher and turned them into an animal, or creature. We used the Photoshop skills we learned through out watching YouTube videos and tutorials.
For me, the hardest part of this project is selecting everything you need to put the pictures together. I persevered through this by asking for help when I needed it, and tried to make extremely good selections.
My favorite part of the Teacher Creature Project was getting to warp Susie's face. I used the transform tool and warped it. This made me laugh and I really enjoyed it.
During the Teacher Creature project, I learned that as a student at Animas High School, I tend to procrastinate a little. It took me a couple of days to get started with this project. I didn't have much motivation for it. Once I started, I really enjoyed the project. I noticed how creative this project and how far I could go with this project. Susie told me that she really likes Tahiti, Zebras, and the band passenger. So I tried to incorporate as much as I could, and am very proud with what I ended up with.
Elements of Design- The Raw Materials of an Artist, the visual components of Art.
Color-depends on light because that is what its made of. Hue, intensity, and value are the three main characteristics of color.
Principles of Design-How to use the elements to make art.
Pattern- A regular arrangement of alternated or repeated elements (shapes, lines, colors, and motifs.)
Contrast- The juxtaposition of different elements of design.
Line- As an art element, line pertains to use o f various marks, outlines, and implied lines i n artwork..
Value-Refers to dark and light, the value scale refers to black and white with all gradations of gray in between.
Emphasis-To emphasize or create a focal point in the art light to dark.
Balance- Creating a symmetric piece of art, using the elements to create balance that is pleasing to the eyes.
Texture-Refers to the surface quality, both simulated and actual , of artwork. Techniques used in painting serve to show texture, i.e. the dry brush technique produces a rough simulated quality and heavy application of pigment with brush or other implement produces a rough actual quality,
Space-Actual space is three dimensional volume that can be empty or filled with objects.
Shape- An area that is contained within an implied line, or is seen and identified because of color or value changes.
Proportion/Scale- The differences between the size, number or any other aspect of several objects.
Harmony- Using the elements to create the feeling that the piece is whole and complete.
Form- Shape and form have the same qualities except shape is two dimensional and form is three dimensional.
Photoshop tutorials
I changed the eye color from blue to turquoise.
I changed Austin Butler's hair from blonde to blue.
I gave her vampire teeth.
Landscape Project Understanding Distance with Scale and Porportion
During this mini project, we learned a lot about the different ways to edit and remove layers of a picture. We will select the part of each picture that we want for our final photo, then move it to a blank document and put it with the rest of the picture. I feel that this project really helped me prepare for the teacher creature project. The layers are something that we will need to be able to change in order to give them the perfect background, middle ground, and foreground. Using scale and proportion can really show each layer. In conclusion, the landscape project has taught me numerous skills that I will use.
