For this project, we learned about Che Guevara, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro. This included his life in Argentina, his motorcycle trip throughout South America, and the Cuban, Congo, and Bolivian revolution.
The project that I chose, was the art project.
I used commands during this project by writing my own three commands, and putting on my art piece, which was a mask of Che Guevara and the Cuban Flag.
Overall, I learned a lot about Che Guevara during this segment and assignement. I learned that he was a revolutionary and was born in Argentina. He traveled to South America on a motorcycle when he was young. He worked with Fidel and Raúl Castro in the Cuban revolution. After that, he went to the Congo, hoping for a revolution and also to Bolivia. The two missions failed. He was killed by the Bolivian army.
The spoken part of this project was my favorite. I did it by first writing a quick summary of his life in spanish, and then translating it with the help of Susy.
Las ramblas

For this project, Las Ramblas, we all chose a Figure who had an impact on the Hispanic culture, and did a biography for them. During this project, we learned many different things about Hispanic culture, as well as preterite and imperfect. I feel as though this project really helped me to master these skills. I chose to research Pablo Casals, a cellist from Catalonia, Spain. This exhibition went very well for me. Although I didn't have that many people come up and talk to me, I could communicate with the few that did. I feel that this project really helped me to understand preterite and imperfect better.
Cuento de tu niñez
Reflection For this project, we described an event from our childhood in spanish. We made a rough draft, revised it and put a picture with it. For this project, I chose to describe my trip to Costa Rica and experience on the Sky Trek, Zipline. After two rough drafts, I finished it. I think that it is very important to be able to talk in past tense in Spanish. It can greatly affect the way of travel and the way you interact with people. Using preterite and the imperfect tenses majorly helped me in this story to describe what happened correctly.
Description For this project, we chose a memory from our childhood. I chose ziplining in Costa Rica.
For this project, we read passages from the book " The House on Mango Street", in Spanish. Then we wrote our own personalized version of this, and created a podcast that will sadly not load on my website.
For this project, we chose a fictional character and wrote about a day in their life. My character was a sea turtle named Jose and he and his friends go through their day together. We had to write this story in present tense. My story used this throughout the pages and incorporated what I had learned. My story was about Jose and some struggles that he had with his friends and a bully. Also, it is how they overcome the bully and turn him into their friend. This project was about incorporating past tense verbs. Examples in english, I am, I made, ran, swam.
Porque estudio una otra idioma (en inglés)
I want to learn another language for a couple reasons, but travel is the big one. I travel to Mexico 2-3 times a year and I want to be able to communicate outside of just Hola, Adios, and Gracias. In the future I would like to be able to have thorough conversations in spanish and travel independently in spanish speaking countries. I also want to learn other languages like french, and I want to learn this one as a test drive. I feel that learning another language can also help me become more interested in different cultures, and visit and experience some of them.
Quiero hablar otra lengua porque viajar a un paîs de habla española. Quiero ir a Costa Rica. Quiero ser una enfermera. Hay muchas personas que hablan español. Me gusta aprender español.
